Boy-this picture sure brought back memories. I was a little tyke at this picture taking. For many years I loved him and wanted to be just like him but always thought he had no backbone and was half nuts and didn't have the respect for him I should have. But then I grew up and had kids of my own and guess what------I now see how strong and loving and dedicated he really was. And I followed right along in his footsteps too. In 2000 I was elected assistant Fire Chief , and fireman of the year too-just like he was all those years ago.
Hey DAD- I'm writing this to tell you I love you and respect you while your still alive-I don't want to wait till you've passed on to say these things. You live a long way away from here-but your in my heart and my actions every day of my life. I love you and thank you for being you.

Well, I know your Dad. And you are so right in saying that he's strong, loving and dedicated. (hmmm and sometimes a little crazy!LOL) I haven't seen him in years, but he always had that big smile on his face that would make everyone around him smile.
