What to do?

Wellll-it's been a long week. The weather has settled down at last and my wireless is back to normal-thank God. I have a dilema and am not sure what to do so tell me your opinion please. My oldest son is in his 3rd week of Marine bootcamp and I just found out his girlfriend commited suicide. Everyone wants me to tell him but I hate to mess up his head right now. But I know I would want to know and would be mad if no one told me. His DI is supposed to call me and discuss it tomorrow. As a parent-this is a hard choice to make.
What do you all think?

this is so hard tugging..as a parent I coud not help but respond...I am so sorry that you have to navigate this..and also that you have to tell your son....you do know you have to tell him...I hate to say this, but if you don't tell him, he might never forgive you and also I hate to say this- it might even damage his trust of you...forever....it is not about Boot Camp...it is about that he lost someone that matters in his life.....and he needs to know...sorry as a mom of a son I just had to say something....my heart does ache that you have to be the bearer of such bad news....namaste...

I appreciate all answers-thats why I posted it. The chaplain and DI are gonna tell him because they said they were better equiped for this sort of thing. I just wanted to hear others reactions and make sure Im not making a mistake.
