What do we do?

So it has been throughout the ages and will be for countless more. A soldier fights and does the dirty work for the room bound leaders who decide what is smart and stupid in running countries. Fear and respect are what make peace. Without them, fanatics always have tried to see what they can get away with. It is the way mankind functions. That doesn't mean it don't stink and cause grief and sorrow. Many of mankinds battles through the ages have been failures and retreats were called to regroup and rethink stratagies. I think it is time to rethink many of the stratagies we have utilized in the middle east conflicts. We have to decide whether we are going to fight nicely or go get the job done and come home. Strangely-I can't remember ever hearing of a fight won playing fairly or nicely. Too many of the fanatics nowadays have easy access to magic buttons they can press and blow up civilization and the world. SOOOOO- we are arriving at a crossroad in which the political policy makers and the leaders of our country, and we, the people of the USA must decide what we are going to do and how to do it.
Meanwhile the soldiers are still following orders, as they have since the dawn of time.
